Special Education
The Special Education (EC) department is dedicated to realizing TMSA's vision of equipping students for success in a globalized, technology-driven society through a robust, STEAM-oriented academic program and comprehensive character education. We engage all students in high-quality, relevant learning experiences that foster academic growth and achievement. TMSA is recognized as an exemplary environment for both learning and working, grounded in principles of excellence, collaboration, and inclusivity.
The TMSA Triad Secondary Campus is committed to fostering and sustaining inclusive school communities for students with disabilities, enhancing student outcomes, and preparing them for a fulfilling life post-graduation. Together, we operate under a unified system with a singular goal that yields diverse and meaningful outcomes.
Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams assess the types of services to be provided to students based on their specific areas of need. The frequency, duration, and location of these services are carefully determined to ensure that, to the greatest extent possible, students are educated alongside their non-disabled peers. This intentional selection aims to provide students with the necessary opportunities to achieve their annual goals.
TMSA Triad Secondary Campus provides special education and related services in accordance with the federal mandates of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and the regulations of North Carolina Public School Law Article 9.
