Changes to Academic Calendar Take Effect March 2

We have an important update to our 2025/26 Academic Calendar and schedule. NCDPI requires us to have 1,025 hours in the classroom, and with the winter storms we experienced earlier this year, TMSA Middle School / High School students missed instructional time in the classrooms. As a result, we are required to make up the missed time before the end of the school year. After reviewing the calendar, we have made the adjustments in the overall best way possible. 

We will need to make the following changes:

• Beginning Monday, March 2nd, through Thursday, May 21st, TMSA will extend the school day by 30 minutes. This does not apply to early release Refresh Fridays, only to our regular full-day schedules. Starting Monday, our High School students will dismiss at 3:29pm, and our Middle School students will dismiss at 3:33pm. 
• Friday, March 13th, 2026, was originally scheduled as a Teacher Workday. However, we will operate as a regular school day for all students and staff on Friday, March 13th. 

We truly understand that the change may cause some disturbances for our stakeholders. We want to assure you that all of our stakeholders have been considered in this time adjustment.
