TMSA Triad Secondary Campus Wins Duke Energy Award

TMSA Triad Secondary Campus has earned 3rd place recognition in Duke Energy’s Energy Efficiency Kit Program, receiving a $1,000 award for strong community participation.

The program is designed specifically for Duke Energy customers, allowing households to request free energy efficiency kits to help reduce energy use and lower utility costs. At TMSA Triad Secondary Campus, teachers played an important role in promoting the program and encouraging students and their families to participate.

Through this outreach, the school community requested a total of 163 kits, showing strong engagement from students’ households.

Among the staff, Mrs. Langdon stood out as the top participating teacher, helping facilitate 69 kit requests from students and their families.

The initiative was led by Mr. Kul, who organized and promoted the campaign within the school. His efforts helped ensure that students whose families are Duke Energy customers were informed and able to take part.

School leaders noted that although the kits were delivered directly to students’ homes, the campaign also served as an educational opportunity by raising awareness about energy conservation and practical ways families can save electricity.

This recognition highlights TMSA Triad Secondary Campus’s commitment to connecting classroom learning with real-world impact and encouraging energy-saving practices at home.
